Googling Jay Leno

I recently tried to Google Jay Leno by typing "Jay Leno is" into Google and I was quite amused by the options that came up.

As you can see, support for Conan is fairly high!

Conan Gets Kicked Off the Tonight Show

Proof that all good things must come to an end, The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien aired its last episode on Friday, January 22nd, 2010, after a measly 7 months on the air. The last few minutes of the episode featured Conan thanking NBC for the 20 years he was with them, which shows how professional Conan really is. It finished with Conan jumping on guitar and playing Free Bird with Will Ferrell on vocals, Gibbons from ZZ Top as well as Beck on guitar.

Conan sure got screwed. Not money-wise of course; he got a $42 million settlement, $12 million of which will go to his staff. But money aside he is forced to leave the beloved Tonight Show because Jay Leno couldn't hold his own at 10pm. The mismanagement of NBC is really shining through these days. Countless millions have been spent promoting the show and building the studio. Then Leno couldn't cut it and they blatantly kick Conan off the air. Granted, they offered him the 12:05am time spot, but acceptance of this would ruin the Tonight Show's reputation and further push back Jimmy Fallon who inherited the Late Night show (not that I care about Jimmy Fallon one iota).

Conan will be back, hopefully on Fox. He would be a great fit for Fox, having already written countless episodes of The Simpsons.

Some questions remain, such as what studio will Leno come back to? when will Conan come back?

One thing's for sure, I won't watch Leno. It's a shame Conan's run was so short; but as he said himself, it's one of the most prestigious jobs in the comedy business and for 7 months, he got to do it.
